Cecile Boccara spent her childhood in Marrakesh and started studying in Paris when she was 20 .
She took up drawing, sculpture and art history courses, and got a degree in Design and Pattern-Making from the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture in Paris.
From 1997 onwards she has specialized in accessories and jewellery. Her work is inspired by airy, ethereal natural elements - flowers, birds, dragonflies, flies and grasshoppers, algae and drawings in the sand. She endeavours to give her jewelry volume and lightness, movement and balance, in order to breathe a touch of soul into sheer fabric.
Her jewels are inspired by the colors and materials of her childhood in Morocco, the craftsmen of Marrakech, and family artists.
The result owes much to the fashion houses and designers who invited Cécile Boccara to work for their fashion shows and collections: Christian Lacroix, Valentino, Roger Vivier, Givenchy, Kenzo.
The production is all hand-made, designed and put together by the craftsmen and women in the Passage du Grand Cerf Parisian workshop.
