"The Almanac collection is a reflection on time and a wish for good fortune in the year ahead," says Jaime Fields, founder and designer of J Fields Jewelry. "I’ve always been drawn to symbols of luck and timekeepers, which naturally led me to a historic piece of jewelry I lust after: the watch fob. Every time I wear my new initial fob, someone asks me about it. They are mystical, tactile, and incredibly beautiful."
Dating back to the 1500s, fobs originally served a practical purpose: helping individuals pull pocket watches from their clothing. By the late 19th century, they had evolved into highly personalized, ornate status symbols crafted from precious metals and gemstones.
