Making its official debut at NY NOW Summer Market 2026, We Don't Really Hate Each Other™ is a conversation card game designed to help people move beyond opinions and discover the stories behind them. Through 150 thoughtfully crafted questions across three progressively deeper levels, players laugh, reflect, share personal experiences, and uncover the common ground that often gets lost in today's conversations.
"You don't have to agree to connect," said Malouf. "You just have to listen long enough to meet the person behind the opinion."
Unlike traditional debate-style conversation games, We Don't Really Hate Each Other isn't about convincing someone they're wrong. It's designed to create the kind of conversations that leave people saying, 'I never knew that about you.'
The game guides friends, families, couples, coworkers, and even strangers through three increasingly meaningful levels of conversation—from lighthearted introductions to deeper discussions about values, identity, and the experiences that shape how we see the world. Along the way, players discover that meaningful conversations can also be surprisingly fun.
The idea for the game emerged from Malouf's growing concern about increasing polarization—and her belief that most people aren't looking to win arguments. They're looking to feel heard.
"Every belief has a story behind it," Malouf said. "When we slow down long enough to hear that story, something shifts. We may not change our minds, but we often change how we see each other."
We Don't Really Hate Each Other will be exhibited for the first time at NY NOW, Booth #1154, where attendees are invited to stop by, ask a question, and experience the game firsthand.
