NEW YORK, NY — Silly Sketched Pets (SSP), the New York-born stationery and gift brand known for whimsical, humor-first pet illustrations, will make its NY NOW debut this August in The Promenade, the show's dedicated section for emerging designers and design-focused brands.
The centerpiece of SSP's booth is a 36-design greeting card series, created specifically for this debut and documented publicly along the way as "36 Cards in 30 Days." Each card pairs hand-drawn dog and cat illustrations with pet-parent humor that's silly.
Founded by lifelong New Yorker Emma Sadler, Silly Sketched Pets started as a way to bring accessible, original art into everyday moments — from custom pet portraits at live events to a mini-print vending machine. The brand has since grown into a full lineup of greeting cards, notepads, and stickers all rooted in NYC flavor and a giggle-guaranteed point of view.
Every brand that partners with SSP for a live event sponsors a pet adoption fee or medical care through rescue partners MuddyPaws NYC, Every Last One and Muttsville, making the giveback a built-in part of how the brand does business, not an add-on.
"People used to call my dad ‘Jolly Bob’ he was endlessly curious, always stopping to talk to strangers, and he made people's days just by being himself in the neighborhood," says Emma Sadler
That's part of why I started doing street interviews, and it's why I make cards meant to get a laugh. When things get hard, a laugh can sometimes be the most healing. NY NOW is the first time I get to bring that into stores at scale."
At Booth 272, buyers can preview the full 36-card collection alongside SSP's notepad and mini print lines, with a $50 wholesale minimum and full inventory available via Faire. Visitors can also purchase on the spot will receive their very own custom Mini (Silly) Pet Portrait.
Silly Sketched Pets is already stocked at The Wondermart, Lockwood Astoria, Magpie, and the AKC Museum of the Dog.
