  • Here is the story how we created Cathayana card holders.  When we started making hand-made-in-the-USA Shibori scarves, we had new business cards by MOO (moo.com) with different face photo of our early creations.  We wanted to send them to our prospective customers in a very impressive way.  Our chief designer (also the president of Cathayana, Inc.) made the first card holder for that purpose.  It looked great. So we had few more made.  We put our new business cards inside our new card holders and sent them out.  One buyer asked us after placing her order of our scarves over the phone: "By the way, do you sell the beautiful card holder?" That was a great question.  "We do now!" we replied.  That was how we got into making our card holders.

Now we have about 30 body fabrics for our line of card holders.  Some of these fabrics, the dots-and-circles patterns, were designed by a young Cathayana artist many years ago..
