https://www.journeyofariverstudio.com
  • Booth: 167

A River creates hand block printed home textiles, cushion covers, curtains, and throws, woven from pure linen and cotton. Each piece is handmade in Jaipur, India, by artisans carrying forward a craft passed down through generations. We make things meant to be lived with, not just looked at.

  • What if a photograph could become a quilt? A travel memory, a street corner, a fleeting moment of light — carved into wood, pressed onto handwoven linen by hand, and brought into your home?

That is exactly what Journey of a River Studio does.

Founded by Mahak Nyati, a textile designer born in Rajasthan and trained at NIFT, the brand bridges two worlds — the ancient craft traditions of Jaipur and the modern design sensibility of the USA. Every collection is hand block printed by master artisans Deepak and Rahul in Jaipur, using hand-carved wooden blocks and handwoven linen and cotton. No machines. No shortcuts. No two pieces exactly alike.

The range spans quilts, cushion covers, throws, blankets, curtains and wearable wraps — all reversible, all printed on both sides, all made to be lived with and loved for years.

This is Indian craft telling modern stories. Slowly, carefully, beautifully.

Come find us at NY NOW Summer 2026 at booth 167 and hold a piece in your hands. We think that says more than anything we could write here.

Designed in the USA. Ethically handmade in India

  • As part of its Archive of Memories collection, A River is introducing a reversible cushion cover,  a single piece with two fully designed prints, one on each side.

The design allows customers to change the mood of a room without buying two separate cushions, and reflects A River's broader philosophy that a home's textiles should adapt and evolve, rather than be replaced.

"Some things are worth keeping on both sides," says Mahak Nyati, founder of A River. "We wanted to give people a reason to never have to choose."

The reversible cushion cover will be available to view and order at NY NOW Summer 2026, Booth 167, running August 2–4 at the Jacob Javits Center, New York.
